BACK TO SCHOOL PROJECT
Remember how special it felt the first day of school with your brand new crayons and pencil box? We do! W-SR United Way is committed to providing new school supplies for local kids in need to help start the school year right.
Last year, 170 local kids were provided school supplies to help prepare them for upcoming school year.
Program Description:
We ensure local kids start the school year ready to learn by supporting families in need with school supply kits. Kit contents are based on the school supply list for each child. Sign up by July 15 for the 2024-25 school year.
Program Stats:
- It costs $30 to sponsor one kit for one local child.
Program Details:
- Online registration required by July 15. Kit pick up in August.
- Open to families in need in Bremer County and Shell Rock.

Jill and United Way have helped me and my family so much this past year. My family and I moved here about a year and a half ago. We moved to get away from a very bad living situation. We had to leave some of our stuff and on short notice so getting here to Waverly and getting into our own place so our boys could start school was VERY trying financially. Jill was very much beyond helpful and understanding. My family and I are so so grateful for all the help they gave us to get our boys in school and help get us on our feet. We absolutely love it here in Waverly.
